The Process for New Hardwood Floors (From Installation

The Process for New Hardwood Floors (From Installation
to Wood Floor Finishing):A Beautiful Hardwood floor begins with a Proper Subfloor:

A 4” board needs at least 1” of solid subfloor to prevent cupping
			& board movement.
In the above picture, All American Hardwood
Flooring has sanded down subfloor for no bumps.

Aquabar underlayment to prevent cupping (Also, many homes in North Carolina have crawl spaces. Crawl spaces combined with the high humidity that is typical in North Carolina can lead to “cupping”. To further prevent cupping, the crawl space should be properly ventilated.)

15 lb felt, second layer of moisture protection.

All rows on joists are marked and nailed. Two nails in between joists maximizes the gripping power of a 2 inch staple, this minimizes cracks & creeks in the future.

Board Selection is Key!

After sanding, a natural sealer (or a stain color of your choice) and multiple coats of GREENGUARD certified Bona Kemi finishes are applied. All American Hardwood Flooring buffs in between every coat. The extra effort of buffing between coats makes all the difference and is the secret to a smooth beautiful floor.
